Blog #2
An effective advertisement campaign that I have seen alot is Apple (or Mac's) commercials. They have exploded in production and sales in the last 5 years, and their witty competition with PC has flipped many Dell users over to Mac's. Also they have the dancing campaign where they have people listening to ipods and dancing. This sounds very simple but it put out the brands identity and now people know of Apple as the company with the Ipods. Simple advertising has effected the spending of millions sense the early 19th century. From small bars putting flyers out for Ladies night, to multi million dollar companies putting out superbowl ads.

My First Blog
What have you learned from the last two MTN presentations? what clip do you plan on using for your visual communications critique? why is media literacy important?
During the last couple of MTN days in class we went over alot of the things that i had learned over the last two years in my advertising class and during my internship at the target advertising corporation this summer. The smaller things that I needed to go over again to spark my imagination to help make the upcoming videos that we are making even better. I am most likely going to use a superbowl commercial for my visual communications critique because those are the most expensive advertisements, which also means that they are the most thought over advertisements. These are the ads that can be broken down to very complex thoughts and ideas. Media literacy is incredibly important because as of right now, advertising is pretty much controlling the economy in a mind of spending margines. if you go to japan and look at the sides of every building in tokyo, you will see that everything is covered in ads. Companies are spending millions of dollars putting out 30 second tv ads just to promote their products. If it wasnt for Media litteracy people wouldnt be able to understand any ads on tv, on billboards, in magezines, on radio, etc. etc. therefor the products of millions of companies wouldnt sell.
