# Five
This week i didnt truly understand what ms hodge wanted us to write about on our blog about this poem by langston hughes. So i will just go over my thoughts about the poem in general. Theme for english B was somewhat of a play on words, it walked you (litterally walked you) through his day and then discribed how he felt about writing for his white instructor. He connects his black herritage of being in harlem and hearing new york, to this new becoming of a "colored" man, the only one in class to be there in college taking this English B class. When he connects being American with the instructor that made me think he was turning his poem aroud and that was cool but then at the end he states " Although you're older-and white-and somewhat more free" it made me think that there is a little hostility towards this class because he is the only black person in there. Maybe he feels out of place or maybe he just isnt enjoying it, i dont know but i know that this was an intreaguing poem and i enjoyed a change in the readings. DUCES
